Job summary

Burns Engineering is actively seeking a licensed Electrical Engineer to join our Power & Utilities team in Austin, TX or Philadelphia, PA. The Engineer I will perform technical design tasks, studies, and analyses on assigned projects under senior staff mentorship, with increasing autonomy and responsibility.

The role emphasizes compliance with Burns standards and efficient task execution within project hours, while contributing to client proposals and design development.

Qualifications

• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) is required for this level.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (B.S.).
• 5-8 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform discipline-specific engineering for systems of moderate complexity.
• Assist in developing design approaches and concepts on projects.
• Prepare technical studies, analyses, and design calculations.
• Review drawings and specifications; coordinate with suppliers and client representatives.
• Assist Project Manager with budgets, schedules, and proposals.
• Lead CAD technicians and interns under supervision, when applicable.
