As a MyEyeDr. Licensed Dispensing Optician (LDO), you will analyze prescriptions to make recommendations that provide the highest quality vision care to our patients. Additionally, the LDO fits, measures, and adjusts eyeglasses to exceed the patients’ needs and expectations, as well as problem-solve any difficulties a patient may experience regarding vision care. The LDO is responsible for providing oversight on all prescriptions throughout the office.

Description

In this role, you will:

• Provide exceptional customer service by understanding and assisting with patient needs
• Guide patients in eyewear and frame/lens selection using extensive product knowledge
• Analyze and assess patient vision problems and needs through conversation
• Oversee all prescriptions within the office
• Maximize sales using the company's sales concepts, focusing on promotions, product choices, warranties, and more
• Maximize insurance benefits for patients and explain coverage comprehensively
• Understand cost of goods and retail pricing to assist cost-conscious patients
• Focus on key patient indicators and educate patients on new prescriptions and lens care
• Use technical aids for proper fit and measurements
• Ensure accurate delivery times and notify patients of delays
• Utilize promotions, coupons, and third-party programs
• Conduct follow-up calls to patients post-purchase
• Verify eyewear with lensometer and inspect final products
• Fit and adjust eyewear for patients
• Maintain accurate product pricing and monitor pending jobs
• Maintain the office's appearance and participate in meetings and training
• Perform other duties as assigned

About You

• Must be a State Board Certified Licensed Dispensing Optician
• AA or BA/BS in a related field is desirable
• 2-5 years of related eyewear experience
• Success in retail or office environments addressing customer needs
• Strong knowledge of optical and lens concerns
• Ability to manage multiple prescriptions and build patient rapport
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
• Proficiency with optical equipment and systems
