Job summary

STI in Bolivar, TN is seeking a licensed Registered Dietitian to oversee therapeutic diets in a state facility, providing medical nutrition therapy and counseling to patients. The RD will develop nutrition care plans, calculate caloric needs, fluid and protein targets, and check menu items for therapeutic adequacy.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in dietetics, nutrition, home economics (food), or closely related field required.
Three years of professional dietetics work experience including at least one year as a registered dietitian.
Graduate coursework in dietetics, nutrition, or related field may substitute for one year of non-specialized experience.

Responsibilities

Plan therapeutic diets and menus for a State facility and administer medical nutrition therapy.
Consult with medical and nursing staff to support patient care.
Assess/analyze data from medical records to make nutrition recommendations.
Develop and implement nutrition care plans and provide nutritional counseling.
Calculate weight range, BMI, and nutritional needs to establish care plans.
Check caloric and nutrient content of foods on menus to meet therapeutic needs.
