Education, Licensing and Experience Requirements:

  • MSW, PsyD, or PhD in behavioral health field or M.A. or M.S. in behavioral health with a clinical practice emphasis from a program that is accredited by COAMFTE, CACREP, or CORE.

  • Licensed as a limited or fully licensed social worker or counselor according to the state licensing board requirements.

  • 1 year of qualifying experience which includes: direct client-facing experience in mental health, social work, behavioral healthcare, crisis care or supporting a 988 crisis hotline, where the responsibilities involved assessing and intervention care.

Location Requirement:

  • You must reside and have at least one of the following licenses in Washington: LSWA-IC, LSWAA, LMFTA, LMHCA, LSWAA, LMHC, LMFT or LICSW.

Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate for this role is someone who possesses a blend of empathy, strong communication skills, and the ability to listen actively and attentively. They should be capable of managing high-stress situations with calm and effective crisis intervention techniques and have robust problem-solving skills to provide solution-focused interventions. Patience, resilience, and the ability to multitask are essential qualities for the ideal candidate, as the job requires handling intense calls while maintaining composure and managing multiple tasks and computer processes simultaneously.

Ethical standards and discretion are crucial to our ideal candidate. This role also requires maintaining confidentiality and a HIPAA-compliant, secure workspace with a locking door to ensure compliance and respect the privacy of callers. The ideal candidate understands that Protocall is a Remote First Organization and they will be comfortable working in a remote environment.

Additionally, the candidate must be flexible with their availability, as a crisis call center we operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and our work requires staff who are willing to regularly work holidays and weekends. The ideal candidate understands that they are required to attend an intensive virtual eight-week training program. This program is designed to refine the skills they already possess and provide them with any missing skills needed to better align with the role of a telephonic first responder.
