Job summary

Hickory Treatment Centers is seeking a Licensed Clinician to provide high-quality behavioral health services within our facility. You will conduct clinical assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and lead individual and group therapy as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Under the supervision of the Clinical Director, you will coordinate care, support patients in achieving treatment goals, and participate in discharge planning and regulatory compliance to ensure continuity of care.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree preferred or relevant clinical credential; bachelor’s degree required.
• Current state licensure required or applicable clinical credential.
• Experience in psychiatric/behavioral health/crisis intervention or inpatient settings preferred.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed care and evidence-based therapies.
• Strong crisis intervention, communication and de-escalation skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment; weekend/holiday rotations may be required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychosocial and clinical assessments of patients.
• Develop, implement, and regularly review individualized treatment plans.

About the Role:

The Licensed Clinician provides high-quality behavioral health services to individuals receiving treatment within the facility. The Licensed Clinician will be responsible for conducting clinical assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, providing individual and group therapy, coordinating care with the multidisciplinary treatment team, and supporting patients in achieving their treatment goals.

Under the immediate supervision of the Clinical Director, the Licensed Clinician collaborates with an interdisciplinary treatment team to support patients with mental health disorders, facilitate recovery, and ensure continuity of care within the facility and community.

Job Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in counseling, social work, psychology, marriage and family therapy or related field preferred, bachelor’s degree required.
• Current state licensure required, or appropriate clinical credential consistent with position and applicable regulations
• Experience in psychiatric, behavioral health, crisis intervention, or inpatient hospital setting preferred
• Knowledge of trauma informed care, and evidence based therapeutic approaches
• Strong crisis intervention skills
• Excellent communication, de-escalation, and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• May involve weekend or holiday rotations depending on departmental needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Assessment & Treatment Planning

• Conduct comprehensive psychosocial and clinical assessments of patients.
• Develop, implement, and regularly review individualized treatment plans.
• Assist patients in identifying strengths, coping strategies, resources, and recovery goals.
• Participate in interdisciplinary case reviews and communicate clinical recommendations.

Individual, Group & Family Therapy

• Provide individual, group, and family therapy as clinically appropriate.
• Facilitate therapeutic and psychoeducational groups addressing mental health, coping skills, emotional regulation, substance use, relationships, and other relevant topics.
• Utilize evidence-based and patient-centered therapeutic interventions to support recovery.

Crisis Intervention & Safety

• Provide crisis intervention and assist with safety planning when clinically indicated.
• Assess and respond appropriately to changes in patient needs, risk factors, and clinical presentation.

Interdisciplinary Collaboration & Care Coordination

• Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings and communicate clinical recommendations.
• Collaborate with nursing, medical, case management, social services, and other members of the treatment team.
• Coordinate aftercare services, including outpatient mental health treatment, residential programs, substance use services, and community resources.
• Coordinate discharge planning and provide appropriate referrals and continuity-of-care recommendations.

Clinical Documentation & Regulatory Compliance

• Maintain accurate, timely, and legally compliant clinical documentation.
• Ensure all assessments, treatment plans, and discharge plans meet hospital and regulatory standards.
• Participate in audits and quality improvement initiatives.

Professional & Other Clinical Responsibilities

• Perform other clinical duties as assigned by leadership.
• Maintain professional standards and contribute to a collaborative, patient-centered treatment environment.
