Job summary

Carolina Behavioral Care, part of the Optum family of businesses, seeks a Licensed Clinical Therapist to join our Durham, NC team. You will treat a wide variety of mental health conditions and support our diverse patient population with evidence-based practices.

Responsibilities include screening, assessment, delivering therapies such as CBT and DBT, and maintaining compliant EMR documentation. A NC LCSW/LCMHC license and a master’s degree are required, with competitive salary and benefits.

  • Master's degree in psychology, social work, or a related counseling field
  • Clear, active and unrestricted license (LCSW or LCMHC) in the state of North Carolina
  • Currently eligible to be enrolled as a provider in the Medicare program or able to terminate opt-out (if applicable) prior to starting a new position

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Screen and assess patients for common mental health and substance abuse disorders

Required Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in psychology, social work, or a related counseling field
  • Clear, active and unrestricted license (LCSW or LCMHC]) in the state of North Carolina
  • Currently eligible to be enrolled as a provider in the Medicare program or able to terminate opt-out (if applicable) prior to starting a new position
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of professional experience post master's degree providing behavioral health services
  • Experience providing direct psychotherapy services to individuals and families
  • Experience working with computers for professional communication and medical documentation - Excel, Outlook, Athena RMS (or other EHRs)
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with equal effectiveness

The salary range for this role is $59,500 to $116,600 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
