Qualifications

  • Licensed Social Worker specializing in Clinical Practice credentialed within 60 days of hire.
  • 3 years of experience preferred in healthcare settings.

Responsibilities

We Are Hiring
  • Department: Palliative Care
  • Schedule: Full Time: Monday - Friday 8am -4:30pm or 8:30am - 5pm - day shift
  • Hospital: Ascension St. Vincent
  • Location: Indianapolis, IN

Strong understanding of psychosocial issues related to terminal illnessExcellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients and familiesAbility to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare teamKnowledge of community resources and referral systems with ASV and surrounding community

What You Will Do

Apply specialized clinical knowledge and advanced clinical skills in the areas of assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental, emotional, behavioral and developmental disorders, conditions and addictions.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer and interpret tests and measures of psychosocial functioning for the purpose of diagnosing mental, emotional, behavioral, addictive and developmental disorders and disabilities.
  • Develop and implement appropriate assessment-based treatment plans.
  • Consult with team managers, statutory and voluntary agencies and patient's relatives to ensure compliance with the patient's treatment plan.
  • Provide crisis-oriented psychotherapy as well as short-term and long-term psychotherapy and psychotherapeutic treatment.
  • Document patient therapy in accordance with both federal and state regulations
What You Will Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • Licensed Social Worker specializing in Clinical Practice credentialed from the Indiana Behavioral Health and Human Services Licensing Board obtained within 2 Months (60 days) of hire date or job transfer date.

Education:

  • Master's degree in Social Work required.

Work Experience:

  • 3 years of experience preferred.
Additional Preferences

Master's degree in Social Work (MSW)- preferred. Experience working with individuals facing serious illness or end-of-life issues. Ethical decision-making skills to navigate complex situations. Active listener, Psychosocial assessments, Care coordination, advance care planning and discharge planning
