Base pay range: $86,681.00/yr - $109,650.00/yr

Duties and Responsibilities

Are you ready to start your Social Work career with New York State? Central New York Psychiatric Center is recruiting for a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to provide professional social work services to individuals with mental illness. Candidates from outside or within State Service can apply.

As an LCSW at Central New York Psychiatric Center, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team providing independent clinical social work services, including:

• Diagnosing emotional and behavior disorders
• Providing psychotherapy
• Conducting biopsychosocial assessments
• Developing assessment-based treatment plans

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates from outside or within State Service can be considered for hire under the NY HELPS program if they are licensed and registered as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New York State.

Candidates appointed through NY HELPS prior to June 2025 will be in temporary status, transitioning to non-competitive permanent in June 2025.

Candidates within State Service may transfer to a competitive position if they have one year of permanent service in an eligible title under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.

Background checks are required. This position offers a Geographic Pay Differential of $18,000 and a Downstate Adjustment of $4,000.

The position is located at Central New York Psychiatric Center's Bedford Hills MHU, on the grounds of Bedford Hills Correctional Facility in Westchester County.

Additional Compensation

• Shift differentials: 7% for evening and weekend shifts, 10% for night shifts

• Maintaining licensure and registration is mandatory; failure to do so may result in removal from the position.
• Applicants must not be listed on any exclusion lists for Medicaid or Medicare; being listed may lead to termination.
• Appointees may need to enroll as Medicare providers and obtain an NPI number; inability to bill Medicare/Medicaid may result in employment termination.

This position is temporary pending Civil Service approval.
