Qualifications

***This position is contingent upon contract award and will be located onsite in either the southeast, southwest, or central United States. Travel will likely be required.***

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Provides direct care to patients within discipline of Scope of Practice and performs functions in accordance with current accepted practice, licensure, certification, credentialing and or granted privileges.
2. Coordinates discharge planning and processes for individuals ready to be released back to the general public or medical care facilities.
3. Provides treatment of persons throughout the life span as appropriate to discipline and facility setting.
4. May be expected to respond to and/or coordinate response to medical emergencies.
5. Assesses and evaluates the mental health of residents and refers to outside treatment facilities if necessary.
6. Provides written evaluation reports on the mental health status of individuals.
7. Provides weekly reports/updates on individuals.
8. Provides brief counseling, psychotherapy, behavioral analysis, and substance abuse education.
9. Provides mental health treatment to individuals presenting with signs/symptoms of sexual or physical assault, abuse, and/or neglect using a multidisciplinary approach.
10. Provides mental health treatment to individuals presenting with signs/symptoms of suicidal, dangerous, or psychotic behaviors.
11. Provides post-discharge follow-up for individuals returning from inpatient mental health treatment.
12. Serves as the suicide prevention program coordinator.
13. Possesses a high level of skill in assessing, recognizing, and treating behavioral or other mental health conditions that interfere with successful treatment.
14. Serves as a mental health consultant to other health professionals at the facility.
15. Assists the local performance improvement coordinator in completing clinical performance improvement activities/risk identification and management related to mental health healthcare worldwide.
16. Performs record keeping functions in accordance with program policies and position.
17. Maintains proficiency and ease of use with electronic health records as required by the position.
18. Maintains patient confidentiality and confidentiality of medical records, in compliance with the Privacy Act and HIPAA regulations.
19. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

1. Master's Degree in Social Work from a program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).
2. Current, full, and unrestricted licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
3. Experience with discharge planning processes where patients receive necessary assistance after release.
4. This position requires the candidate to practice independently according to their state licensure.
5. Ability to multi-task, be detail-oriented, organized, and have excellent communication skills.
6. Proficiency with computers and MS Office products.
7. Ability to work in remote, austere, or challenging environments.
8. Ability to perform duties in a stressful and high-paced environment without limitations.
9. Flexibility to adapt to sudden changes and work requirements, including potential shift changes.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. 5 years' experience as an LCSW.
2. Licensed LMSW with relevant experience.

Physical Requirements and Work Conditions:

1. Walking, standing, or sitting for extended periods.
2. Bending, stooping, lifting to 40+ lbs. as needed for patient care.
3. Overtime may be required.
4. Ability to work indoors or outdoors.
