Job description

Sun River Health is a Federally Qualified, Non-Profit Health Center serving communities in Suffolk, Rockland, Orange, Dutchess, Ulster, Sullivan, Columbia and Westchester County. Sun River Health is currently seeking a part-time Psychotherapist to support our A31 Sidney Baer, NYC location.

Coordinates and oversees all aspects of psychosocial programming. Assists in planning, developing, organizing and evaluating psychosocial, as well as, concrete needs of program participants.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides psychotherapy for patients.
  • Provides psychosocial evaluations for patients
  • Practices in collaboration with psych NPs, psychiatrist and other medical staff to manage patient care
  • Assesses the multidimensional needs of patients and develops and implements care plans
  • Functions as a patient advocate, by participating in clinical meetings, patient care conferences and informal discussion with health care and mental health program staff
  • Provides patient education relative to psychiatric mental health issues
  • Provides written reports and care coordination as needed.
  • Attends and participates in continuing educational programs, seminars, etc., designated to maintain professional competence
  • Performs all related duties, as assigned, or unrelated duties, as requested, during emergencies
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the management and care of the adult substance abuse population

Minimum Requirement:

Master’s degree in social work
2 - 4 years psychiatric mental health care of persons with HIV/AIDS.

NYS Licensed LMSW, LCSW or LMHC

Job Type: Part-time

Part-time hourly rate ranges based on licensure are as follows:

- LMHC: $35.56 - $37.75

- LMSW: $40.10 - $42.25

- LCSW: $47.79 - $50.25
