Job summary

Weill Cornell Medicine is seeking a Licensed Clinical Social Worker to provide trauma-informed inpatient and outpatient counseling on the Upper East Side. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support patients and families on their path to healing.

The role involves telemedicine and on-site therapy, DSM-5 assessments, and tailored treatment planning. A Master’s degree and NY LCSW are required; experience with trauma and complex medical settings is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree required.
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) licensed in New York.
  • Experience with mental illness and trauma-informed care preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides individual and group therapy in an outpatient setting, via telemedicine and/or in-person treatment.
  • Provides comprehensive assessment and diagnosis using the DSM-5. Develops treatment plans and aftercare planning.
  • Prepares ahead for sessions, tailoring treatment to each patient's unique needs.
  • Documents in a timely manner. Participates in program growth that includes engaging in wellness programming planning and/or community outreach activities.
  • Attends and contributes to team meetings and peer supervision.
  • Engages in continuing education.
  • Communicates and collaborates regularly with patient care team—both other mental health care providers, as well as other medical providers at Weill Cornell Medicine / New York Presbyterian Hospital.

Position Summary

Collaborates with a multi-disciplinary team and community-based personnel, as needed, to ensure efficient service delivery and a high level of customer satisfaction.
