Valor Healthcare is looking for a passionate Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to join our team at the Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) in Kosciusko, MS. Schedule: Clinic hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM with no weekends. The role requires working 16 hours per week, with flexibility within clinic hours.

Core Responsibilities
- Performs initial and follow‑up evaluations and assessments.
- Engages veteran and team members in treatment planning.
- Provides individual therapy focused on behavior activation and short‑term needs (e.g., Diabetes, Heart Conditions, Depression, Anxiety, Adjustment Disorders).
- Administers evidence‑based psychotherapies as appropriate.
- Provides emergency care, referring patients for primary care or inpatient psychiatric admission when needed.
- Coordinates crisis intervention, family conferences, and acts as liaison to families.
- Advocates for veterans and their families against bureaucratic barriers, encouraging self‑advocacy where feasible.
- Responds promptly to psychiatric emergencies and conducts rapid assessments.
- Provides case management throughout the continuum of care.
- Handles advance directives and organ donation discussions per accepted standards.
- Documents all patient information in VISTA/CPRS.
- Completes all clinical reminders due at each visit.
- Maintains confidentiality of veteran data.
- Participates in staff meetings concerning clinical, administrative, and staff development issues.
- Consults with staff on psychosocial needs of veterans and their impact on treatment adherence.
- Plays a role in program planning, recommending policy changes as necessary.
- Collaborates in performance‑improvement processes and complies with Valor and VA performance measures.
- Collects veteran feedback and works to enhance services.
- Complies with all Valor and VA training requirements.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
- Ensures compliance with OIG, JC, EOC oversight, lab standards, and other regulatory items.
- Focuses on excellent clinical outcomes per VA guidelines.
- Delivers outstanding customer service to veterans, families, colleagues, and visitors.
- Creates and maintains a warm, welcoming professional atmosphere and deescalates conflicts.
- Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to improve comprehensive patient care.
- Works with clinic leadership to resolve veteran concerns or complaints.
- Assists clinic outreach events and enrollment initiatives.
- Supports patient enrollment and retention through follow‑ups and nurse visits.
- Embraces and supports new clinical and operational initiatives.
Qualifications
- Doctoral degree in psychology from an American Psychological Association (APA), Psychological Clinical Science Accreditation System (PCSAS), or Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) accredited program.
- Master’s degree or higher in Social Work from an Accreditation Board for Social Work Education (ABSWEs) program, with specific adult‑patient training; equivalent degrees (Counseling, Marriage & Family Therapy, etc.) may be considered.
- Valid, unrestricted LCSW/MSW (or equivalent) license in the state of intended employment, with independence to practice at the master’s level.
- Minimum of 1–3 years of post‑master direct counseling experience with adult patients (requirements may vary by VA contract).
- Credentialed and in good standing through the Veterans Health Administration (VA).
- Current Basic Life Support certification (renewable as required; AHA valid for two years).
- Proficient in written and spoken English.
- Strong computer skills, including Electronic Medical Record experience.
Final compensation will be based on relevant factors including work experience, skills, certifications, and internal equity.
