Job Summary:

Responsible to provide clinical counseling based on biblical principles and in support of the doctrine and traditions of Christian Wellness Center of NJ.

Duties/Responsibilities:

1. Provide counseling for clients and patients, individually and in group sessions, to assist in overcoming dependencies, adjusting to life, and making changes. Maintains confidentiality of records relating to clients’ treatment.
2. Counseling will consist of adolescents, married couples, individuals, and families.
3. Guides clients in the development of skills and strategies to deal with their problems. Encourages clients to express their feelings and to discuss what is happening in their lives and helps them develop insight into themselves and their relationships.
4. Collects information about clients through interviews, observations, and tests. Prepares and maintains treatment records after each session via Therapy Notes in a timely manner.
5. Evaluates clients’ physical or mental condition based on review of client information. Develops and implements treatment plans based on clinical experience and knowledge. Acts as a client advocate to coordinate required services or to resolve emergency problems in crisis situations.
6. Attend all in-house training and clinical supervisions.
7. Maintain all paperwork for counselee in Client’s location.
8. Work at least two evenings per week.

1. Knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation; psychological research methods; and the assessment and treatment of behavioral and emotional disorders.
2. Knowledge of principles, methods, and procedures for diagnosis, treatment, of mental dysfunctions.
3. Knowledge of group behavior and dynamics, societal trends and influences, human movements, ethnicity, cultures, and their historical origins.
4. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
6. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
7. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
8. Flexibility in days and hours; available for work including nights and weekends.
9. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
10. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
11. Abide by professional code of ethics and client confidentiality.
12. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
13. Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
14. Bi-lingual preferred.

Education and Licensure:

1. Master’s degree in Christian counseling, psychology, social work, clinical mental health counseling, marriage and family therapy, or a related mental health field.
2. Hold license to perform in state; licensed in good standing through the National Board for Certified Counselors, National Board of Social Work, Association of Marital and Family Therapy Regulatory Boards.
3. Obtain and maintain personal liability insurance.

Physical Requirements:

1. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
2. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
