Psychological Assessment Specialist|Hybrid|Lancaster Pennsylvania

If you are a Pennsylvania-licensed or license-eligible psychologist who wants to focus deeply on assessment rather than maintain a traditional therapy-heavy caseload, Providence Behavioral Health offers a strong professional home. This hybrid role centers on diagnostic interviewing, test interpretation, clinical integration, evidence-based report writing, and meaningful feedback within an established interdisciplinary outpatient practice. Position Summary

In this role, the psychologist completes outpatient psychological evaluations that address referral questions involving diagnostic clarification, cognitive and intellectual functioning, attention and executive functioning, learning, personality, behavior, emotional functioning, autism, adaptive functioning, and related clinical concerns. You will own the full evaluation process, including record review, clinical interviewing, test selection, interpretation, case integration, report writing, and feedback. Caseload and evaluation types will be aligned with your training, competence, credentialing, and PBH service needs.

Primary Assessment Responsibilities

• Review referral information and available medical, educational, psychological, and treatment records to define the evaluation question and appropriate scope.
• Conduct comprehensive diagnostic and developmental interviews with patients and, when appropriate and authorized, family members or collateral informants.
• Select evidence-based assessment instruments appropriate to the referral question, patient characteristics, and limits of the available normative data.
• Administer, score, and interpret psychological, cognitive, academic, personality, behavioral, adaptive, and symptom measures within the psychologist's competence. Oversee psychometrist-administered testing and integrate findings with clinical history, records, observations, and collateral information to support diagnostic impressions.
• Prepare timely, organized, and clinically useful reports that directly answer the referral question and provide practical recommendations.
• Provide clear feedback to patients, families, referral sources, and other authorized parties, including discussion of findings, limitations, diagnoses, and recommendations.
• Coordinate with psychometrists and support staff and provide appropriate oversight of delegated testing activities.
• Maintain accurate documentation, test security, informed consent, privacy, and compliance with ethical, legal, payer, and PBH requirements.

• Diagnostic and psychological evaluations for mood, anxiety, trauma-related, thought, behavioral, and personality concerns.
• ADHD, autism, intellectual, learning, and other neurodevelopmental evaluations.
• Cognitive, functional, and differential-diagnostic evaluations for adults and older adults.
• Personality, adaptive-functioning, and treatment-planning evaluations.
• Focused evaluations and consultation for medical, educational, or community referral sources when clinically appropriate.

Limited Psychotherapy Opportunities

This position is built around assessment rather than a substantial psychotherapy caseload. If desired, you may incorporate a small number of therapy patients, brief treatment consultations, or short-term evidence-based interventions when supported by your training and competence and consistent with scheduling and practice needs.

Required Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in clinical, counseling, or school psychology from an APA- or CPA-accredited program, unless an alternative pathway clearly satisfies Pennsylvania licensing requirements.
• Completion of an APA- or CPA-accredited predoctoral internship, or an internship otherwise acceptable for Pennsylvania licensure.
• Current, unrestricted Pennsylvania psychologist license; eligibility to obtain Pennsylvania licensure; or qualifications for an approved postdoctoral training role.
• Graduate, internship, or postdoctoral training in psychological assessment, test interpretation, clinical integration, and report writing.
• Ability to provide services independently after onboarding and within the limits of licensure, supervision, training, and competence.
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, interpersonal, documentation, and time-management skills.
• Ability to meet credentialing, background-clearance, professional-liability, and payer-enrollment requirements applicable to the position.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience completing comprehensive psychological evaluations across more than one developmental stage.
• Experience with diagnostic, personality, cognitive, ADHD, autism, learning, adaptive, or functional evaluations.
• Strong knowledge of psychometrics, test validity, differential diagnosis, and evidence-based assessment practices.
• Demonstrated ability to write clear, integrated reports efficiently and within established turnaround expectations.
• Experience working collaboratively with medical, educational, or community professionals.
• Interest in community education, program development, consultation, or trainee supervision.

Schedule and Work Arrangement

The position is expected to involve 32 to 40 hours per week, with flexibility to support both patient care and focused assessment work. On-site time is required for interviews, testing, feedback, team consultation, and other patient-facing responsibilities that cannot be completed remotely. Approved remote days may be used for record review, scoring, interpretation, report writing, telehealth interviews or feedback, and administrative work. The final arrangement will reflect patient needs, evaluation workflow, credentialing requirements, and PBH operational needs.
