Job summary

A cruise company in New York seeks a Chief Engineer to manage operations and maintenance of equipment onboard. Candidates must have a high school diploma and a valid USCG License as a Chief Engineer. Qualifications

Job description

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all operations and maintenance of equipment throughout the entire ship.
• Responsible for engine room and maintenance.
• Determines fuel, lube oil, and other consumables required for a voyage.
• Compiles an inventory for spare parts, oversees fuel, lube, and slop oil transfers, all major maintenance.
• Prepares the engine room for inspection by local marine/safety authorities (e.g.U.S. Coast Guard ).
• In charge of the engine room during emergency situations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• USCG License as a Chief Engineer of Motor Vessel of an unlimited HP
• Submit to and pass alcohol and drug tests including but not limited to pre-employment, random, and post-accident testing
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted
• Ability to maneuver areas within the vessel including engine room spaces and crew areas
• Good verbal and written communication with others continuously
• Process calculations continuously
• Minimum 18 years of age.
• Successfully complete drug test.

You will be required to obtain a TWIC and MMC. Acceptable documents to obtain badging are Passport or Government issued photo ID and certified copy of Birth Certificate. Supporting documents would be needed for a name change.
