Job summary

Armor Health is seeking a Licensed Behavioral Health Professional to join the team at Newton County Jail in Covington, GA. You will conduct psychosocial assessments, provide counseling, crisis intervention, and case management within a correctional setting.

The role requires a Master’s in Social Work or related field, a current state license, CPR certification, and ability to pass level 2 background checks.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Social Work or related field.
• Current state Mental Health Professional license.
• Current CPR certification.
• Ability to pass pre-employment Level 2 clearance to include background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Provide psychosocial assessments and preliminary diagnostic impression, counseling therapy, crisis intervention, and/or case management services in a correctional facility.
• Collect information about patients through interview, case history, tests and observation.
• Evaluate data to identify causes and determine proper therapeutic approach or referral.
• Provide crisis management counseling and short-term therapy as needed.
• Prepare treatment and follow-up care programs.
• Provide therapeutic crisis intervention and emergency services as required.
• Demonstrate knowledge of DSM-5 criteria and appropriate intervention.
• Consult with other behavioral health practitioners and related staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide a wide range of psychosocial assessments and preliminary diagnostic impression, counseling therapy, crisis intervention, and/or case management services to patients in a correctional facility as part of an established multidisciplinary treatment team and behavioral health program
• Collect supporting information about patients through interview, case history, psychological tests, and/or observational techniques
• Evaluate data to identify causes of problems and determine proper therapeutic approach or referral to other specialists
• Provide crisis management counseling, and/or short term therapy to patients as appropriate
• Prepare treatment and follow-up care programs
• Provide therapeutic crisis intervention and emergency services as required
• Demonstrate knowledge of DSM-5 criteria and appropriate intervention for each entity
• Consult with other behavioral health practitioners and related staff, as appropriate, in the performance of therapeutic and/or casework
