Job description

Job Description: Athletic Trainer

Provides athletic training services to Geisinger contracted organizations. Assists with community events, programming, and supports other contracted schools as needed. Establishes community relations and provides educational programs for coaches, athletes, and community members.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Performing initial patient assessments and screenings, developing patient education materials.
  2. Engaging in injury prevention, recognition, evaluation, immediate care, rehabilitation, and reconditioning.
  3. Using therapeutic modalities, rehabilitation equipment, and athletic training supplies.
  4. Conducting taping, wrapping, bracing, and pre-event preparations.
  5. Planning, documenting, and communicating athlete care, and referring to medical providers.
  6. Acting as a physician extender within the Musculoskeletal Institute.

Work is primarily in a clinical environment. The role includes typical duties outlined in department orientation and adheres to organizational policies. Additional skills may be required based on departmental needs.

Additional Information:
  • Hiring Incentive: $5,000 sign-on bonus paid over two years (stipulations apply).
  • Hours: Full-time, 40 hours/week.
