Job summary

Design Collective, Inc. in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor seeks a licensed Architect with 3+ years of professional experience to join our design studio. The role focuses on construction documentation and administration, contributing to multifamily, student life, and mixed-use projects.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, travel to project sites for observations, and support schedules, budgets, and deliverables across multiple projects in a collaborative studio culture.

Qualifications

  • Licensed Architect with minimum 3 years of professional experience.
  • Experience with Construction Documentation and Administration.
  • Proficient in coordinating with clients, consultants, contractors and project stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to contribute to multiple projects in varying phases.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare existing conditions analysis, plan diagrams, conceptual site plans, massing models, presentations, and charrette/workshop materials.
  • Prepare and format reports and design guidelines graphics, text, and documents.
  • Support community engagement and facilitation.
  • Develop design and construction documentation from feasibility through Construction Administration.
  • Collaborate with project teams, consultants, and clients.
  • Perform site visits and issue field reports.
  • Assist with project planning, coordination, and day-to-day management.
  • Participate in project meetings, design reviews, and team communications.
  • Coordinate with product representatives and industry partners to evaluate building products.
  • Contribute to a collaborative studio culture focused on design quality and professional growth.

Job description

Design Collective is seeking a talented, motivated Architect to join our design studio in Downtown Baltimore at the Inner Harbor.

Licensed Architect with minimum of 3 years of professional experience and a focus on Construction Documentation and Administration for our Baltimore office. This position may be primarily but not limited to Construction Administration phase services. This position requires:

  • Licensure as an Architect.
  • Providing Construction Administration services, including regular site visits and observations, reviewing submittals, RFIs, change orders, and pay applications.
  • Experience with project types including multifamily housing, student life, and mixed-use commercial and/ or civic programs.
  • Strong communication skills for coordinating with clients, consultants, contractors and other project stakeholders
  • Support for project schedules, budgets, deliverables, and project management objectives.
  • Contributing to multiple projects in a variety of project team roles at various phases of development.

Our Architecture studio in Baltimore works across a variety of project types, with a strong focus in urban design, housing design, including University student life and developer mixed‑use housing, K‑12 and higher education schools and facilities, and civic/ entertainment projects. Who We’re Looking For
  • Proficiency in Revit. Knowledge of Bluebeam, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, Rhino, SketchUp, and/or Lumion.
  • Strong verbal, written, and graphic communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time‑management abilities
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solving
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively within a team environment

Compensation and Benefits

Design Collective offers competitive salaries, an employer funded Employee Stock‑Ownership Plan (ESOP), 401(k), above‑standard company paid contributions towards medical and RX coverage, employer paid medical deductible, voluntary dental, vision, short and long‑term disability, paid life insurance, two weeks of paid vacation or more depending upon experience, paid sick days, flexible work arrangements, licensure/registration reimbursement plan, professional development opportunities, networking support, and more.

The compensation range is $60,000 to $135,000 annually and is commensurate with experience.
