Job summary

Valley Hope of Atchison, located just northwest of Kansas City, has an exciting opportunity for a Licensed Counselor to join our residential treatment team. The successful candidate will provide individual and group counseling, develop treatment plans, and support families in recovery.

The role is full-time and on-site with a Monday–Friday 8:00am–5:00pm schedule and an average caseload of 10 patients. Kansas licenses (LMAC/LCAC/LPC/LCPC/LMSW/LSCSW) and CPR/First Aid are required.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in behavioral sciences, education or social work.
• State license/credential to practice as alcohol/drug counselor in Kansas: LMAC, LCAC, LPC, LCPC, LMSW, LSCSW
• Minimum 1 year clinical counseling or case management; 3 years preferred
• CPR/First Aid Certification

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling to patients and families.
• Develop, revise, and implement treatment plans.
• Performs face to face assessments.
• Develops patient progress reports and follow-up care.
• Provide clinical consultation to referral resources, mentors, and families.
• Maintain knowledge of applicable counseling procedures and guidelines.
• Record treatment activities and patient observations accurately.
• Interact professionally with patients, staff, and vendors.
