Job summary

BAART Programs, a BayMark Health Services company, is seeking a compassionate Substance Use Counselor to guide patients through medically assisted programs and coping strategies for opioid addiction. The role includes individual and group sessions, progress evaluation, and collaboration with the care team in a outpatient clinic setting.

Responsibilities include initial assessments, treatment planning, aftercare development, and family involvement when possible, with emphasis on producing

Qualifications

• Conducts initial assessment and evaluation interviews for service eligibility determination.
• Establishes and reviews initial treatment plan with each patient.
• Provides individual and group counseling; direct service hours at regularly scheduled intervals; coordinates services throughout treatment.
• Completes Bio-psychosocial assessment.
• Involves families in recovery process whenever possible
• Develops and participates in teaching projects for patients
• Responds to patient grievances and complaints.
• Develops aftercare and discharge plans; completes discharge paperwork.
• Other related duties as determined by supervisor

Compassionate Substance Use/Addition Counselor Needed!

Position Overview:

Substance Use counselor will be in charge with assisting patients through medically assisting programs and offering techniques for handling opioid addiction. Counselor conducts group sessions and individual sessions to assist with crisis management and coping strategies. Additionally, counselor will evaluate patients’ progress during therapy. Substance abuse counselors may also need to collaborate with doctors, nurses and therapists for patients’ therapy and treatment for best overall outcome.

Responsibilities:

• Conducts individual initial assessment and evaluation interviews for service eligibility determination
• Facilitates, establishes and reviews with each patient the initial treatment plan
• Provide individual and group counseling services; direct service hours at regularly scheduled intervals; coordinate all services throughout treatment.
• Completes Bio-psychosocial assessment.
• Involve families and significant others in patient’s recovery process whenever possible
• Develops and participates in individual or group patient teaching projects
• Respond, as needed, to patient grievances and complaints.
• Develop aftercare plans and discharge plans. Completes all discharge paperwork.

Qualifications:

• Kansas issued T-LAC, LAC, LMAC or LAC required
• Kansas issued LMFT, LCMFT, LMLP, LCP, LPC, LCPC, LMSW and LSCSW will be considered but must provide proof of addiction specific training through transcript, CEU’s or on the job training.
• Previous experience working with chemically dependent individuals
• Must demonstrate a positive, non-judgmental, and accepting attitude toward our patient population
• Understanding of an EMR system (electronic medical records)
• Satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check.
