Job summary

Halcyon House in Duluth, MN seeks a licensed acupuncturist to join our employee-owned cooperative wellness center. You will care for existing clients and have room to grow your practice within a supportive team of practitioners.

We value holistic care, community sessions, and collaborative growth. Candidates should hold NCCAOM certification and MN state licensure, with BLS/CPR. Pay ranges between $30 and $60 per hour, with flexible scheduling and member-owner benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Assess health history using TCM theory and formulate differential diagnosis.
  • Provide acupuncture and TCM treatments in private and community settings.
  • Adhere to MN statute 147B, clean needle technique, and HIPAA requirements.
  • Document observations, interventions, and plan of care in the EHR.
  • Develop and adjust care or education plans; collaborate with team.
  • Support cooperative growth and productivity standards.

Job description

Halcyon House is seeking an acupuncturist for our Wellness Center. Halcyon House currently has existing acupuncture clients and there is also room to grow your practice.

Halcyon House is an employee owned co‑operative wellness center. We offer several services under one roof including: therapeutic massage, physical therapy, adult and pediatric occupational therapy, and sound healing. Our vision is to offer Duluth a well‑rounded variety of wellness services from a team of experienced practitioners.

The Role:

As a licensed acupuncturist at our clinic, you'll play a vital role in ensuring our patients receive exceptional care and feel truly valued. This position calls for a mix of clinical expertise, a patient‑focused approach, and a passion for fostering a holistic healthcare environment. We are seeking someone eager to focus on patient care within a collaborative, nurturing environment alongside like‑minded practitioners. The ideal candidate will have a positive, proactive attitude, with the drive to grow their schedule and contribute to the ongoing development of our co‑operative.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Use TCM theory to assess and evaluate health history. Formulate appropriate differential diagnosis based on Traditional Chinese Medicine.
  • Provide acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine treatments to patients in both private and community settings. (We have currently only offered private sessions, however we have interest in community sessions as well).
  • Adhere to MN statute 147B regarding the scope of practice for licensed acupuncturists.
  • Adhere to clean needle technique.
  • Comply with all HIPAA requirements.
  • Complete accurate and timely documentation of observations, interventions, plan of care, referrals and follow‑up.
  • Document in organization’s EHR with clear, concise, organized charting
  • Identify needs of the individual and develop a plan of care or education plan.
  • Reassess and modify the plan of care as necessary to achieve health goals
  • Make appropriate referrals to other health professionals and community agencies.
  • Support new and existing programs which expand the organization’s role in the community.
  • Participate in performance improvement activities.
  • Adhere to productivity standards established by the organization.
  • Perform other duties as needed in order to keep a clean, calm treatment environment, such as keeping the treatment area clean, sanitize the room and supplies according to clinic written standards, clean all medical supplies utilized, such as cups, guasha tools, etc., and other related duties with appropriate training.

  • Experience with prescribing Chinese herbal medicine

Requirements:
  • Education at a level that qualifies for national board certification in acupuncture from the National Commission for the Certification of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM)
  • Valid license to practice acupuncture in the state of Minnesota
  • Valid national board certification in Acupuncture from the National Commission for the Certification of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM)
  • BLS/CPR Certified
  • US Citizen or hold proper work authorization to be legally eligible to work in the United States
