This position must integrate company values into daily practice.**Essential Functions:*** Provides skilled nursing care to patients as ordered by the physician and under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.* Implements orders for medications and treatments as ordered by the physician and in accordance with nursing care plan as written by the Registered Nurse.* Provides information to the Registered Nurse to assist in the development of an individualized plan of care for each patient.* Participates in evaluation of the effectiveness of interventions in relation to patient responses and seeks guidance in redirection when necessary.* Reports to supervisor on patient care rendered, problems concerning patients’ needs, and resolution to those needs.* Helps identify patient problems and potential risks and contributes to the development of interventions.* Assists in identification of patient’s learning needs and reinforces self-care and other techniques.* Appropriately designates applicable charges to individual patients using the hospital’s established system.* May be required to work during inclement weather and other staffing emergencies.* Provides an environment conducive to safety for patients, visitors, and staff. Assesses the risks for safety and implements appropriate precautions. Complies with appropriate and approved safety and Infection Prevention standards.* Maintains regular attendance in keeping with assigned work schedule.* Performs other duties as assigned to support overall effectiveness of the organization.**Minimum Job Requirements***Minimum Education & Experience :** Two years’ experience in inpatient hospital setting, inpatient rehabilitation experience preferred.*Required Licenses, Certifications, and/or Documentation:** Current state license as a Licensed Vocational Nurse required.* Current BLS certification required.*Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:** Knowledge of and adherence to current nursing theory and practice and infection prevention standards of practice.* Knowledge of accreditation standards to ensure adherence to all standards set forth by state and accrediting agencies of TJC and CMS.* Knowledge of clinical operations and procedures, and utilizes proper policies, procedures, and guidelines in caring for patients.* Demonstrates general computer skills including data entry, word processing, email, and records management.* Demonstrates critical thinking skills.* Effective organizational and time management skills.* Effective written and verbal communication skills.* Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and complete complex tasks.* Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection prevention standards.* Ability to work independently.* Ability to maintain proper levels of confidentiality.* Ability to work closely and professionally with others at all levels of the organization.**Physical Requirements Over the Course of a Shift:*** A significant amount of standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, pushing, and pulling, often for prolonged periods of time.* Both gross and precise motor functions.* Lifting/exerting of up to 50 lbs.* Possible exposure to bodily fluids.* Visual acuity required for patient assessment and documentation of care.* Acute hearing required for accurate patient assessment.* Sufficient manual dexterity to operate equipment and computer keyboard* Close vision and the ability to adjust focuslocations: Rockwall, TXposted on: Posted 10 Days Ago**Authentic.
