Job summary

St. John's Community Health is seeking a licensed vocational nurse (LVN) to provide care across multiple clinic locations in the service area. The position requires bilingual English/Spanish skills, strong communication, and the ability to travel as directed by Nursing leadership.

Responsibilities include assisting providers, basic wound care, rapid HIV testing oversight, and supporting staff training while adhering to policies and patient flow protocols.

Qualifications

• Bilingual English/Spanish required.
• Two years of vocational nursing experience in ER, medical office, or hospital care.
• Able to travel to multiple sites within service area.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Proficient with Word, Excel, Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Triage support and expediting patient flow to have patients in rooms by 8:30 AM.
• Oversight of rapid HIV testing quality assurance and training for MAs.
• Provide basic wound care per protocol.
• Assist providers with minor surgery as needed.
• Support clinical staffing through education and training.
• Adhere to patient flow and regulatory policies.

Job description

Under the direction of a CMO, Nurse Director, or Nursing Manager, provides care to patients in a knowledgeable, skillful, consistent, and courteous manner consistent with scope of practice and following established policies and protocols. The LVN contributes to the provision of quality nursing care through techniques that support and achieve positive outcomes in patient care.

Must be able to travel to different clinic locations requested by Nursing Director/Manager.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 2 years actual vocational level nursing experience, such as: emergency room, medical office (pediatric, OB/GYN, or other specialty), or hospital care.
• Able to travel to multiple sites within service area.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to function independently and as a team member.
• Proficient computer skills – Word, Excel, Outlook
• Bilingual English / Spanish (Required)
• PMS – Practice Management System skills (Preferred)
• E.H.R– Electronic Health Records (Preferred)
• Graduate of an accredited LVN program
• Proficient with Venipuncture and performing laboratory support

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Organize getting the morning started – trouble shoot if there is a delay or snag, expedite as needed to ensure that patients are in the room by 8:30 AM
• Limited, basic triage of patients, consistent with scope of practice and in collaboration with lead clinician, to expedite waiting patients or overbook walk-in patients based on medical urgency.
• Oversight of rapid HIV testing, including quality assurance and competency training for MAs
• Basic Wound care according to written protocol.
• Provide guidance and counseling to clinical staff to ensure efficient patient care and support.
• Assist provider with minor surgery/as needed.
• Support clinical staffing (MA, Extern) by way of education and clinical training.
• Follow policies and procedures relating to patient flow, customer service and compliance with regulations pertaining to clinical area.
• Directly responsible for monitoring and tracking quality metrics and outreach.
