Job summary

Fort Lauderdale Health and Rehab in Fort Lauderdale, FL seeks licensed practical nurses (LPN) to join our care team. You will record medical histories, monitor vital signs, administer injections and medications, and assist with daily activities for residents under our care.

Responsibilities

• Record a patient’s medical history accurately.
• Take and record measurements of blood pressure, temperature, heart rate, etc.
• Observe patients under treatment to identify progress and adverse effects.
• Monitor patients’ conditions and document fluid intake/output.
• Assist patients with daily activities such as eating and bathing.
• Administer injections and prescribed medications; clean and dress wounds.
• Collect samples for lab testing as assigned.
• Provide emotional and psychological support when needed.
• Communicate with patients’ family or friends to provide guidance and reassurance.

Fort Lauderdale Health and Rehab is located in Fort Lauderdale, FL, just northeast of the Coral Ridge Country Club. We are convenient to Holy Cross Hospital and Broward Health Imperial Point. Our professional staff is trained in a wide range of specialties contributing to Fort Lauderdale Health and Rehab Center’s ability to produce measurable progress with all residents. The FLHRC HealthCare system serves patient needs through multiple levels of care, including skilled and traditional care, as well as hospice, respite and Alzheimer’s care. We are currently seeking Licensed Practice Nurses- LPN to join our team.

Job Responsibilities:

• Record a patient’s medical history accurately
• Take and record measurements of blood pressure, temperature, heart rate etc.
• Observe patients under treatment to identify progress, side-effects of medications etc.
• Monitor patients’ conditions, including fluid intake and output and compose patient charts
• Assist ailing patients in daily necessary activities such as eating, bathing etc.
• Administer injections, prescribed medications, enemas etc., clean and dress wounds and assist with other basic medical care tasks
• Collect samples for lab testing as assigned
• Provide emotional and psychological support when needed
• Communicate with patients’ family or friends to provide advice, comfort and release instructions

LPN license required. Previous long- term care experience desirable however not required
