LIBRARY TECHNICAL ASSISTANT (SAFETY)

Full‑time, permanent position located at the California State Prison, Corcoran, Kings County. Salary range: $3,989.00 – $4,992.00.

Position Summary

The Library Technical Assistant (Safety) will perform duties in accordance with the State Personnel Board classification specification within the institution’s Legal or General Library collections. Responsibilities include providing access to library resources for incarcerated persons, operating under the supervision of a Senior Librarian or in a satellite library without continuous active supervision, and ensuring safety protocols are followed.

• Support library staff in daily operations, including shelving, record keeping, and user assistance.

Minimum Requirements

• Eligibility for state service. Candidates new to state service must complete the required examination.
• Possession of the necessary training and development assignments, if applicable.

• Ability to work within the specified location under security protocols.
