Job summary

Marion Public Library in Marion, IA is seeking a part-time Patron Services Support Staff to assist patrons at Information and other desks, including the Reference and Technology desks, with a focus on customer service, information retrieval, and Readers' Advisory.

Schedule up to 30 hours per week, including evenings and weekends. Reports to Patron Services Manager; works with a team of staff to maintain a welcoming library environment.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service skills and professionalism.
• Ability to assist diverse patrons with information needs.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with library resources.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and reflect on performance.

Responsibilities

• Serve patrons at Information and other public desks including Reference and Technology desks.
• Assist with accessing physical and digital collections and placing holds.
• Conduct patron record queries, ILL requests, and reader advisory.
• Handle cash register transactions and process library materials.
• Collaborate with staff to maintain welcoming environment.
