Job summary

The City of Mesa is seeking a part-time Library Page to support operations at the Main and Dobson Library branches. Responsibilities include shelving, sorting, and assisting with the periodical collection and circulation tasks.

Night and weekend work is required, with varying shifts throughout the week. Qualifications include completion of the 11th grade, with preferred experience in alphabetical filing and familiarity with the Dewey Decimal System.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualification Required: Any combination of training, education, and experience equivalent to completion of the 11th grade.
• Preferred/Desirable Qualifications: Previous work experience involving alphabetical filing.
• Desirable: Previous work experience using the Dewey Decimal System.

Responsibilities

• Shelving materials in alphabetical or numerical order.
• Packing, unpacking, and sorting materials routed between branches and departments.
• Processing the periodical collection, including stamping and weeding back issues.
• Performing basic circulation functions, checking in and securing library materials.
• Pushing carts heavily loaded with books (up to 150 pounds) and handling packing bins and pallets.
• Providing general assistance to library personnel.
