Job summary

CSU Stanislaus Library is seeking a Library Outreach Student Assistant (FWS) to support their social media and outreach efforts. The position involves maintaining accounts, planning posts, creating graphics, and promoting library resources to students.

The role emphasizes marketing, event planning, and graphic design with opportunities to design flyers and merchandise while working on campus in Stanislaus State facilities.

Qualifications

• Undergrad students must be registered/enrolled in a minimum of six (6) Fall/Spring units.
• Post-baccalaureate students must be registered in a minimum of four (4) Fall/Spring units.
• Must have received and accepted Financial Aid award for the current semester/year.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining the Library’s social media accounts.
• Schedule weekly posts on Library Instagram, TikTok and Twitter accounts.
• Develop and contribute to marketing and outreach projects, including creating graphics, writing posts and audience engagement.
• Design informational and event flyers for upcoming workshops and/or marketing events, virtual or onsite.
• Run social media analytics.
• Assist with outreach events/preparation as needed.
• Help design library merchandise.
• Promote library resources and services to students.
• Perform all other duties or projects as assigned.

• Position Summary
• Temporary hourly-intermittent student assistant position available in the University Library.
• Start Date
• Positionavailable on or after September 1, 2026and ending on or before May 21, 2027. Possibility of reappointment based on budget, department needs, and job performance.

  Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Assist in maintaining the Library’s social media accounts

• Qualifications
• Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong interest in marketing, outreach, graphic design, event planning, libraries, and/or communications management.
  • Highly detail-oriented and independent, able to complete a project draft independently with minimal beginning instructions.
  • Able to help design materials, programming, and events that are inclusive of the needs of all community members served by the library.
  • Prior experience using a variety of social media platforms.
  • Demonstrated experience creating and sharing promotional materials.
  • Comfortable speaking with large groups, working with graphic design and video editing platforms (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut).
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Arts and crafts experience.
