Job summary

The Crawfordsville District Public Library is seeking a Facilities Technician to help maintain a clean, safe environment for patrons and staff in the main library and museum. You will report issues to the Assistant Director, recommend solutions, and implement them, with use of a personal vehicle as needed.

The role requires a high school diploma and at least two years in trades such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing or carpentry; certification or journeyman’s license is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of two years’ field experience in specialized trades (HVAC, electrical, plumbing or carpentry).
• Building trades certification or journeyman’s license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventative maintenance and minor repairs on buildings, grounds and equipment.
• Repairs and maintains plumbing, electrical, and lighting systems; handles light construction as needed.
• Maintains building conditions, temp/humidity controls for collections, and safety compliance.
• Transports recyclables and assists with custodial tasks when needed.
• Maintains service and test records for equipment and assists with budget needs.
