Liberal Public Schools is seeking a Library Media Specialist (Librarian) for the 2026–2027 school year at Eisenhower Middle School. The role supports students and staff with a rich library of resources, information literacy, and instructional collaboration.

The position reports to the Curriculum Director and building principals, with a 10.5‑month contract and competitive benefits. A dedicated team promotes student achievement and professional growth.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree required for Library Media Specialist role.
• Kansas K-12 Library Media endorsement required.
• Experience in teaching preferred for this role.
• ESOL endorsement preferred for added stipend and diversity.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of literature and trends in library media practice.
• Plans library media program aligned with school goals and standards.
• Collaborates with staff to design instructional units and lessons.
• Teaches information literacy and ethical use of information.
• Maintains and manages library resources within budget.

Education

Master's Degree from an accredited college/university.

Current Kansas State Teaching Certificate with Library Media endorsement.

Two years of teaching experience preferred.

ESOL endorsement preferred.
