Qualifications

• Master's degree in Library Science, Information Science, or a related field.
• Valid state certification as a School Library Media Specialist.
• Previous experience in a school library setting preferred.
• Strong knowledge of children's and young adult literature, information literacy, and educational technology.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of the library media center and manage library materials.
• Develop and manage the library budget for books, resources, and technology.
• Maintain accurate records of inventory, circulation, and usage.
• Collaborate with teachers to integrate library resources and information literacy into the curriculum.
• Teach students how to locate, evaluate, and use information effectively.
• Conduct library orientation sessions and provide instruction on resources and technology.
• Promote reading through programs, events, and inclusive collections.
• Collaborate with staff to integrate technology into teaching and learning.
• Provide training and support for students and staff on digital resources and databases.
• Stay current with emerging technologies to enhance library services.
• Communicate with students, staff, and parents about programs and resources.
• Participate in school and district meetings and professional development.
