Job summary

Dothan City Schools is seeking a Library Media Specialist for a 9-month assignment. Applicants must hold a valid Alabama Teacher's Certificate in Library/Media Education and meet background clearance requirements. The role reports to the Principal/Designee and supervises the Library Media Aide.

The incumbent will plan with instructional leaders, organize media resources, administer the media budget, and ensure access to current materials and technology to support student achievement.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree from an accredited educational institution.
• Bachelor’s degree in Education from an accredited educational institution.
• Certification in Media by the State of Alabama.
• Must meet background clearance requirements as specified by Alabama statutes and State Board of Education regulations.

Responsibilities

• Identify, set and monitor goals for the media program.
• Plan with teachers for media/information skills integration.
• Develop schedules and organize resources for access to information.
• Manage the media center budget and records.
