Cheshire Public Schools is seeking a Library/Media Specialist (.5FTE) district-wide to support student research for grades K-6 and to assist teachers and students with print and electronic projects. The role envisions innovating the library as a design-thinking space that embeds complex thinking tasks driven by students.
You will collaborate with district library media specialists to build a robust K-12 program, create a welcoming environment, and foster intellectual curiosity and knowledge
Facilitate the teaching and learning of student research for grades K-6. Provide assistance and support to classroom teachers and students through the use of print and electronic research projects. Innovate the library as a space for design thinking embedding complex thinking tasks driven by students. Serve as a resource for students and staff in the effective use of educational technology, including delivery of aspects of the digital citizenship curricula. Collaborate with other district library media specialists to build a robust, K-12 library media program within the Cheshire Public Schools. Create a welcoming environment that serves as the heartbeat of the school. Build and maintain an atmosphere that promotes intellectual curiosity and the pursuit of knowledge among all members of the school and community.
