Job summary

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools is seeking a Library Media Coordinator to provide leadership for a school library media program that supports a student-centered learning process and helps prepare students for a globally competitive world.

The role focuses on instructional resources, professional development, digital citizenship, and collaboration with teachers to improve teaching and learning through library media services.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Library Science required.
• Licensed by NCDPI as a school library media coordinator.
• Strong knowledge of NC standards and AASL standards.
• Ability to design instruction using student achievement data.
• Excellent written and spoken communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead and model library media program improvement with PLCs.
• Provide leadership and professional development in literacy and digital learning.
• Collaborate with teachers on inquiry-based learning and digital citizenship.
• Plan long-range media center resource management.
• Prepare reports for the NC Digital Learning Materials Inventory (NCDLMI).
• Maintain complete and accurate records and statistics.
• Advocate for intellectual freedom and copyright.
