Job summary

Crystal Lake Community Consolidated School District 47 seeks a .5 Library Media Center Paraprofessional/.5 Building Paraprofessional to support students under the supervision of teachers. The role involves assisting with library materials, technology, and information literacy, including monitoring and guiding student use of the library.

The paraprofessional may assist with toileting and other physical needs per district protocol, and will participate in training.

Qualifications

• Valid ISBE Paraprofessional License or Short Term Approval.
• Ability to learn library technologies and systems.
• Desire to work with students and support diverse needs.

Responsibilities

• Work with teachers and students to develop knowledge needed to use library materials and organization.
• Manage circulation and storage of library media materials.
• Supervise students under the direction of the library media specialist.
• Enter and update catalog and patron information in the LMC database.
• Assist with preparation of instructional materials and displays.
• Promote a positive relationship with students, staff, and community.
