Job summary

The Arlington Heights Memorial Library is seeking a Materials Handling team member to shelve and maintain the order of all library materials, and to deliver or retrieve items for customers or staff.

You will check materials in/out, manage holds, and guide patrons to find materials or staff who can help, all while standing and pushing carts as needed in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in a customer service setting preferred.
• Accuracy and attention to detail required for filing and cataloging.
• Ability to arrange and file materials in alpha/numeric order.
• Familiarity with computer and email programs.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Must stand for much of the shift and push carts up to 20 pounds.
• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Work well in a team environment.
