Job summary

The Kings County Library Department seeks a Library Manager to lead operations, guide a dedicated team, and shape programs and collections across branches. You will oversee budgeting, staff development, community outreach, and service excellence, with a focus on literacy, public access, and innovative program delivery.

A master’s degree in Library Science and Librarian II experience are required, along with California driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited college or university.
• Three years of professional Librarian II level experience with project leadership.
• Valid California driver’s license at time of appointment.

Responsibilities

• Assists in overall management and administration of library programs, services, and activities.
• Selects, trains, motivates, and evaluates department personnel; directs staff development and disciplinary procedures.
• Oversees department budget, forecasting, expenditures, and capital needs.
