Job summary

UMaine Libraries seeks an Associate Dean of Libraries to lead financial planning and personnel management as part of the Libraries leadership team.

Under the Dean of Libraries, you will oversee financial procedures, coordinate cross-department projects, and provide administrative oversight for Merrill Library staff in Orono and Machias to ensure timely, effective outcomes aligned with the Libraries’ mission.

Qualifications

• MLS/MLIS from an ALA-accredited program.
• Experience with budget development, planning and management.
• Experience in personnel management with staff supervision and coaching.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with faculty, librarians and external partners.

Responsibilities

• Oversee financial planning and resource stewardship for UMaine Libraries.
• Lead personnel management, staff evaluation and development.
