Job summary

San José Public Library is seeking an experienced IT Manager to lead technology systems, services, and staff across 25 locations. The role focuses on shaping SJPL’s technology roadmap, improving reliability, cybersecurity, and operational efficiency while expanding public access to digital services.

The ideal candidate will oversee infrastructure modernization, project management, and cross‑department collaboration with stakeholders including SJSU and the City IT Department.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, business administration, or a closely related field.
• Five years of experience managing, maintaining, and implementing technology programs; three years of supervisory experience over a technical team.

Responsibilities

• Lead and modernize Library Technology Infrastructure including 25 locations and 500+ staff.
• Oversee IT operations, service delivery, and cybersecurity with partners (SJSU, City IT).
• Advance technology innovation, systems integration, and modernization of Library systems.
• Plan and manage multiple complex IT projects, budgets, contracts, and vendor relations.
• Provide organizational leadership, cross-department coordination, and staff development.
