Job summary

Pierce County Library is seeking a Maintenance Technician (40 Hours) for Regular Full-Time work at the Administrative Center. The role performs skilled building and vehicle maintenance, records management, and inventory control to support library operations.

The position requires a valid driver''s license, a high school diploma or equivalent, and at least three years of facilities maintenance experience, with evenings/weekends on a rotating schedule.

Qualifications

• Valid state driver''s license and high school diploma or equivalent.
• Three years of facilities maintenance experience OR a combination of education and experience.
• Must pass criminal background screening prior to hire.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends on a rotating schedule and adapt to schedule changes.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of skilled building and vehicle maintenance tasks to keep facilities and vehicles safe and functional.
• Diagnose and repair maintenance issues across plumbing, electrical, lighting, flooring, walls, ceilings, and painting.
• Assemble and remodel office furniture and fixtures; manage parts inventory and data entry in the maintenance system.
• Maintain facilities maintenance records and documentation; ensure accurate time and activity reporting.
• Communicate policies clearly to staff and the public; support the library''s mission and values.
