Job summary

Claysburg Area Public Library seeks a Library Director for a 35-hour work week in a rural service area. Responsibilities include planning, directing, budgeting, and program development under the Library Board, with occasional evenings/weekends.

Qualifications

• Two years of college with nine library science credits or equivalent.
• Experience in a library system or public service preferred.
• FBI and PA clearances required for employment.
• Proven leadership in a community or non-profit setting.
• Fundraising and grant writing experience preferred.
• Strong oral and written communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily library operations and administrative tasks.
• Administer library programs within policy and budget.
• Manage personnel, budgeting, payroll and benefits.
• Coordinate community programs to raise library awareness.
• Promote services through outreach and events.
• Plan and market library programs for all ages.
• Prepare monthly and district reports for the Board.
