Job summary

The Prince George’s County Memorial Library System (PGCMLS) is hiring a full-time driver to transport library materials, mail, and supplies across 19 locations. You will operate box trucks or vans, load and unload, and maintain daily records while following safety protocols.

Qualifications include a HS diploma or GED, 2+ years driving/delivery experience, and a valid license with minimal demerits. The role offers uniforms, company vehicles, and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Delivery/truck driving experience required.
• Valid driver’s license with five or fewer points.
• Knowledge of traffic laws and safety regulations.
• Strong attention to detail and organization.
• Basic technology skills (email, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace).
• Friendly attitude and team spirit.
• Ability to lift up to 100 lbs; operate vehicles up to 8 hours daily.

Responsibilities

• Drive library vehicles to deliver books, supplies and materials.
• Load and unload deliveries safely and efficiently.
• Perform routine vehicle checks and coordinate maintenance.
• Sort and distribute mail and materials post delivery.
• Maintain accurate daily records and follow all safety protocols.
• Assist with special projects and train new staff.
• Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM.
