Job summary

The Prince George’s County Memorial Library System is seeking a full-time Driver to transport and deliver books, materials, mail, and equipment across 19 library locations. Candidates must have a valid driver’s license and be able to operate a box truck or cargo van up to eight hours daily.

Schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM. High school diploma or GED required; 2+ years delivery/truck driving experience; strong attention to detail and a team-oriented attitude.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of delivery or truck driving experience.
• Valid driver’s license in good standing with five or fewer points on driving record.
• Knowledge of traffic laws, safety regulations and local routes.
• Strong attention to detail and organization.
• Basic technology skills (email, Microsoft Office, and Google Workspace).

Responsibilities

• Drive library vehicles to deliver books, supplies and materials.
• Load and unload deliveries safely and efficiently.
• Ensure security of vehicle contents and keys.
• Perform routine vehicle checks and coordinate maintenance.
• Sort and distribute mail and materials post delivery.
• Maintain accurate daily records and follow safety protocols.
• Collect deposits as needed.
• Assist with special projects and train new staff, as needed.
