Job summary

Shenandoah County Library System is seeking a part-time employee to transport library materials between the county’s libraries and assist staff, volunteers, and patrons. This position operates under regular supervision and may involve related duties as required.

The anticipated starting pay is $15.75 per hour, commensurate with qualifications and experience. The position is open until filled with a first review the week of November 16, 2026.

Education and Experience

Requires education equivalent to graduation from high school and minimal experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Licenses or Certifications

Possession of a driver's license valid in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge of the organization and functions of the department and of general administrative policies and practices.
• Skill in communicating effectively both orally and in writing in a highly interactive team-oriented work environment.
• Ability to operate standard office software and other work-related equipment.
• Ability to operate a motor vehicle.
• Ability to perform and organize work independently.
• Ability to prepare effective correspondence on routine matters and to perform routine office management details without referral to supervisor.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and the general public.
• Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance at work.

The anticipated starting pay for this FLSA non-exempt position is $15.75 per hour, commensurate with qualifications, experience, and internal equity.
