Job summary

The Molalla Public Library is seeking a Part-Time/On-Call Library Circulation Assistant I. Schedule will be Mondays from 2:00pm to 7:15pm, Wednesdays 2:00pm - 7:15pm, Thursdays 1:00pm - 6:15pm, for a total of 14.75 hours per week plus on-call hours as needed.

Work includes providing excellent customer service while performing general library duties such as checking materials in and out, monitoring public computer use, shelving, and assisting patrons with questions in person and over the phone.

Qualifications

• Read and speak English fluently and perform cashier duties.
• Must be able to reach, bend, and lift up to 25 lbs.
• Cash handling skills with ability to give change and process transactions.
• Basic computer skills and ability to operate library systems.

Responsibilities

• Check materials in and out and shelve items.
• Monitor public computer use and assist patrons with questions.

Be wary of fee requests in excess of what Molalla City Staff has conveyed to you and reach out to our staff directly if you receive any payment requests that look suspicious. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications

Required

• Computer knowledge and expertise.
• Read and speak English fluently.
• Cash handling skills (giving change, card reader, recording transactions).
• Ability to reach, bend, and lift up to 25 lbs.
• Maneuver carts up to 150 lbs in tight spaces.

Preferred

• Speak Spanish and/or Russian.
• Knowledge of basic library operations.
• High school diploma or GED.

• Accurate alphabetical and numerical sorting.
• Basic computer skills.
