Qualifications

• Knowledge of library procedures and filing systems.
• Interest in children's literature.
• Ability to learn to operate audiovisual and office equipment quickly with some training.
• Ability to read, alphabetize, file, type and perform basic clerical tasks.
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, students, parents and the public.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Assist in processing new and discarded library materials.
• Manage circulation transactions.
• Shelve materials.
• Assist librarian in repairing books.
• Assist students and teachers locate materials and use library technology.
• Assist in preparation and implementation of special programs, inventory and library lessons.
• Assist in maintaining an attractive and organized learning environment.
• Prepares correspondence, reports, and other materials as requested.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
