Fort Bend County is seeking a part-time library assistant in Fulshear, Texas, offering a salary of $15.30 per hour for 24 hours per week. Responsibilities include assisting staff at the reference desk and helping patrons with library resources and technology.

Responsibilities

• Assist the full‑time staff at the reference desk.
• Provide answers to reference questions and refer more complex questions to full‑time staff.
• Assist patrons with public computers, catalog searches, circulation accounts, internet and database access.
• Help with other library duties such as programming for adults, assisting at the circulation desk, or other reference desks.
• Complete assigned shelf‑reading duties to keep shelves in order.
• Complete book and AV processing or other duties as assigned.
• Attend reference training and other educational programs on a continuing basis.
• Study databases, online resources and the reference‑book collection regularly to maintain familiarity with library resources.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and 48 college credit hours.
• Relevant experience working with children in groups preferred.
• Typing, keyboarding and computer skills including internet and database searching.
• Good communication skills and ability to interact easily with staff and the public.
• Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and lift library materials up to 25 pounds.

Salary

Part‑time $15.30 per hour, 24 hours per week.
