Job summary

West Texas Elementary is seeking a Para Professional Library Aide to manage the campus library operations, assist students, and support teachers with instructional materials. The role includes cataloging, shelving, inventory, and clerical duties in a school environment.

The aide will work closely with librarians and staff to ensure a well-organized, student-friendly library, adhering to district procedures and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Education/certification: High school diploma or GED.
• Proficient keyboarding and file maintenance.
• Ability to shelve books following district cataloging system.
• Ability to work well with children.
• Effective, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Library Program Support: Provide individual instruction and assistance to students in using library resources and equipment.
• Accounting and Inventory: Maintain catalog, assist in inventory, process new books and materials, and reconcile invoices.
• Clerical Support: Compile, maintain, and file reports and forms; prepare bibliographies and routine correspondence.
• Student Management: Supervise and monitor students and assist librarians and teachers with behavior.
• Other: Maintain library operation and direct volunteers; follow safety and emergency procedures.
