Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or its equivalent.
• Education/Certification – Highly Qualified; Pass the ETS Para-Pro Assessment – Score 450; or Completed two years (48 semester credit hours) from a regionally accredited institution.
• Earned an Associate’s Degree from a state-approved or regionally accredited institution.
• EXPERIENCE – 0 to 6 months of basic work experience.
• SKILLS – Capable of working cooperatively with staff and students; basic organizational skills; ability to operate basic office equipment; knowledge of library management software and basic word processing/spreadsheet programs.
• OTHER REQUIREMENTS – Sustained manual dexterity and the ability to stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates the management of instructional materials.
• Provides instructional support for students and teachers in the media center.
• Provides basic secretarial and bookkeeping support for the media center.
• Maintains the media center’s circulation system.
• Operates instructional equipment and media production tools.
• Delivers courteous service to students, parents and staff; assists in conferences as needed.
• Identifies opportunities to improve service and work processes.
