Job summary

Brevard County Board of County Commissioners, North Area/Port St. John Public Library, is seeking a part-time library assistant to support Circulation operations with data entry, processing and maintenance of fines, fees and records.

The role requires six months of paid or volunteer library experience and six months clerical or retail work with strong customer service; the schedule is variable, including evenings and weekends; salary is $14.99 hourly, negotiable based on experience.

• Provide customer service primarily at the library Circulation desk.

$14.99 hourly. Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications. North Area/Port St. John Public Library. Part-time/20 hours per week. Work schedule is variable and includes evenings and weekends. Performs experienced office and clerical work providing customer service primarily in the Circulation section of the library through data entry, processing, and maintenance of fines, fees, files, and records.

REQUIREMENTS

• Six (6) months of paid or volunteer experience in general library work;
• Six (6) months of clerical or retail work which included strong customer service skills.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

• When usage statistics change, library employees may be assigned to another library.
• In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
